Green Christmas Trees: the Green Network Energy initiative dedicated to Christmas!

Green Network Energy, bucking the trend of cutting down pines for Christmas festivities, has launched an initiative to plant new trees in Sila Piccola, in the Spineto area, adjacent to the Sila National Park.

The number of trees that will be planted will depend of the amount of ‘energy’ that will be unleashed on the web page dedicated to the project.

Anyone with a Facebook, Google+ or e-mail account can join in, they just need to login to the page dedicated to our initiative.

Everyone who signs up will virtually generate 10 kWh of energy. For every 5000 kWh of energy, Green Network Energy will commit to planting one tree.

Share the project via your social page and you can double the energy unleashed to 20 kWh.

The goal of this venture is to create awareness regarding the cutting down of trees for Christmas and the destruction of flora in general.

The planting of just one tree enables and reduce the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere by between 10 kg and 20 kg per year.

Upon conclusion of the programme, the results will be communicated through the website and the participants will receive a thank you message along with information about the ‘Green Network Grove’.

The planting will be carried out by ‘Give a Tree’ (‘Regala un Albero’), a green initiative that strives to spread a message of ecological culture concerned with protecting nature and biodiversity.
